There are 2 kinds of Drive in racking systems. Drive in pallet racking systems and Drive thru pallet racking systems. Drive in pallet racking systems allows the material handler to drive a fork lift directly into the racks to deposit or retrieve pallets,but can’t thru it. Drive thru rack design allows the forklift to traverse the entire length of the drive thru rack, warehouses use one end for picking and the other for storage. So Drive thru make it possible to first in or first out. Drive thru racking is great for FIFO materials, such as food and medical consumables which has short shelf life.
